Electronics giants in Japan form consortium
Japanese electronics giants Sony Corp, Toshiba Corp, Hitachi Ltd, and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd are founding members of the Home Appliance Electronic Tag Consortium, which was formed in October last year. The objective of this consortium is to study and manage the process of tag distribution for the purpose of managing inventory in the supply chain. The group also includes Sharp Corp, Mitsubishi Electric Corp, and Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd as members.
