RFID in China

A recent study by ABI Research has found that even though China has a huge market for RFID deployment, the market development at present very uneven, dictated by different technologies and varying standards. The market for LF RFID is quite strong in China; LF RFID finds applications in campuses and access control applications. The HF RFID which follows the ISO14443 standard is used for identification, transportation, toll booths, etc. The ISO15693 RFID standard too will gather strength in the market. morerfid.com reports:

ABI Research does not expect to see a national UHF RFID standard published in 2006. Whether ISO 18000-6 part-C will converge with EPC Gen2 will significantly influence the timing and shape of a Chinese standard.
