Presentation on DIY RFID implants at NYC’s Dorkbot meeting

At the Dorkbot meeting, Mikey Sklar gave a presentation on “do it yourself RFID implants.” While researching on RFID security and privacy issues Mikey came across a small but developing community of tag implanters and after researching their exploits with RFID decided to implant himself with it. He got the tags implanted in his hands. At the presentation Mikey showed his time lapse video of the implant procedure and carried out a demonstration of what he could with his implants. His profile gets activated by placing his hand over a USB Reader. He has also built a customized POV display which makes use of his profile data to display information such as headlines from news feeds, email count etc.
