RFid revenue to get a boost from smart cards and ePassports
Application of RFid in smart cards and ePassports will generate increasing revenues for RFid industry and it is expected that RFid will achieve market value of $ 26.23 billion by 2016. The amount of money spent on ePassports for installing RFid comes out to $ 3 and this will generate revenue of $ 13 million in 2006 and $ 120 million in 2010. There will be a major growth in the application of RFid for ePassports in the coming years. It is expected that by 2016 the average cost of RFid in ePassports will drop down to $ 1.5.
