UK food companies slow to use RFID

A new survey of about 100 leading UK food manufacturers conducted by the organizers of the easyFairs Process Pack & Track Food exhibitions in Britain revealed that UK food manufacturers are slow in using RFID. The surveyors cite one more reason other than cost for this slow progress. There is an obvious lack of knowledge about RFID.

The easyFairs survey reveals that only 17 per cent of the food companies surveyed had introduced RFID or planned to implement it over the coming12 months.

Experts said that to make RFID popular in this sector, the food industry help from suppliers.
