SATO to acquire BCS division of Checkpoint

SATO will be acquiring the Bar Code Systems (BCS) businesses of Checkpoint Systems. SATO is one of the leading players in the AIDC field. The BCS businesses of Checkpoint in North America, Asia Pacific, and Europe will be acquired by SATO. The price of the sale will take into account adjustments to the net tangible asset value when the balance sheets are finalized at the time of closing.

The transaction will enable Checkpoint to turn its attention to its core competencies. SATO will benefit from the deal in terms of an increase in its presence in the BCS market. morerfid.com reports:

George Off, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Checkpoint, commented, " Checkpoint is pleased to enter into this agreement with SATO, a company with a solid presence in the Bar Code Systems business.
